Blog Reflections

Well, yesterday Ryan helped me restore my old blog posts from last year when I gave blogging up. So you can now see all my old blog posts. (There you go david from Koorong took some time but here it is!) It is funny though reading some of my relfections and things that I have said. They sound so stuped some of them, even just ways I would say things even my spelling. Jenny can I hire you as my full time blog spell checker?

Anyway, have radio tonight, should be good! Missing home tonight, thinking of my friends and family a bit, my sister is in hospital and I want to see her but hey nothing I can do about it, but her boyfriend is looking after her so thats ok.

I put my clothes out on the line 4 days ago and so far everyday it is rained on them, or overnight but dew on them. Not happy at all really funning out of clothes.

Bowan your dvd is coming btw! Slow but sure!

My Weekend

Well its has taken a while but here is my my reflections of the weekend, but anyway at least its here.

Friday
I left Tassy at 10:00 and arrived in Sydney at 11:35 and was picked up by my mum & dad, I then drove to home, went to see charlie @ Oporto in Hornsby got a Bondi Burger, went to David Jones and got my self a new shirt. I then proceeded to the Wedding in Chatswood to see Bec & Greg get married (Bec is a friend of my sister who was a bridesmade, bec is also like my big sister)

I then took my Grandma home and then proceeded to Dockside at Darling Harbour, it was a awesome time, I had a great time, saw Ben (Ben is Becs younger brother who has always been my little bro), saw the old group of friends, it was a significant time of re-connections with friends and I enjoyed it, great view, wonderful food! It was amazing.

This is my sister & her boyfriend Cameron

Anyway a enjoyable time, glad I came up, was sad to leave.

Saturday! Saturday I woke up, had a nice morning slept in, then Mum & Dad and my self went to Blu Water for breakfast was a nice and interesting time. After that I caught up with Russell then Joy, I then saw a few people around; Anthony, Matt, James yeah it was nice. I also had lunch with Charlie at Oporto.

I then caught up Jenny & Howie, it was a great time, had a good chat had a thickshake which made me sick from Mr Salmonella (Donut King) and they don’t give you free donuts, very disappointing.

I also dropped in to the office to drop some things off then went and saw Margy, on my way to Berowra

Saturday night the family and my Grandma went to Berowra Waters for dinner for my birthday which is coming up on the 9th May. It was a nice time really enjoyed it and was good to see the family.

Sunday
On Sunday morning I had breakfast with Brett at McDonalds in Mt Colah which was nice and I found it really good to catch up with him. After that I went to my old church and said hi, saw Naomi, Shaun, Mark and yeah that was ok. I then took my sister out.

mandie-swanies-01.jpg

Mandie and I went to Swanes in Durul and had a few cups of Coffees, it was really nice to catch up with each other, I really love Mandie and I think she is special!

After that I went to Hornsby saw Mum & Dad, packed up and went over to Bec & Gregs, on which Adrian took us to the airport, me back home, and Bec & Greg to Vanuatu.

I then got on the plane, it was nice had a whole row to my self, and a guy Chris sat on the oppersite side of the plan, so that was 2 people to 6 seats, it was funny looking at the whole plane where ever other seat was full and there was us, have a nice time all spread out!

I then got into Melbourne Airport where I had a Pepsi! and some dinner at a little cafe in the terminal with Chris my new friend I met on the plane who was also going to Lauceston. We then hung around for 1hr or so, then run into 4 other people heading to the Village for Diploma, (including Kaia) anyway got in, got picked up by Bazza, went to McDonalds again, got some food, went home, put some streamers up for my housemate who was returning from a 5 week adventure to Uluru!

Lessons learned from living out of home

New boxers just don’t appear in your cuppord

When you don’t wash up there is nobody there to wash up for you

Things like lack of pegs become really frustrating

You start knowing what a bargain is at Coles, the real scary thing is when you are comparing bargains when you get home

Five Cent pieces really become valuable, and I found that Coles don’t like paying for $10 worth of food in five cent pieces.

The sad world we are in

From BBC News

Many web logs are like electronic diaries and are updated daily

Cyber criminals are starting to use fake blogs to snare new victims.

The bogus web journals are being used as traps that infect visitor’s machines with keylogging software or viruses.

Filtering firm Websense said it had found hundreds of bogus blogs baited with all kinds of malicious software to snare the unwary.

Websense warned that the baited blogs could get past traditional security measures that try to protect people from malicious programs.

Hidden harm

The company said blogs were being used because they inadvertently offered lots of help to computer criminals.

Blogs are free and simple to use, offer users lots of storage space, can be used anonymously and most do not scan stored files for viruses and other malicious programs.

Websense said it had seen examples of some computer criminals creating a legitimate looking weblog, loading it with keylogging software or viral code, and then sending out the address of it through instant messenger or spam e-mail.

“These aren’t the kind of blog websites that someone would stumble upon and infect their machine accidentally,” said Dan Hubbard, Websense’s research director. “The success of these attacks relies upon a certain level of social engineering to persuade the individual to click on the link.”

In separate cases some blogs were being used as storage lockers holding chunks of malicious code that the controller of a network of zombie machines wants those remotely-controlled computers to use.

In late March, Websense found a fake e-mail message that tried to direct people to a blog that was hosting keylogging software.

Now it estimates that there could be more than 200 bogus blogs in existence that are being used to attack net users.

By comparison blog-watching service Technorati estimates that there are more than 8 million blogs in existence.

Anyone visiting the baited blog and falling victim to the keylogger could find that they have bank accounts rifled by the phishing gang behind the bogus website.

Websense warned that viruses hosted on weblogs might be a danger because they get round the filtering systems many firms have created to ensure malicious programs do not reach employees.

Users were urged to keep anti-virus and patches up to date, regularly scan machines with anti-spyware products and exercise caution when reading unsolicited messages sent via e-mail or instant messenger.

My Uluru Reflections

Well over the past few days I have been to Uluru, it was amazing time. I think that I have found it a real interesting experiance to go, learn and spend time with our indegnious people. I think that we need to reconize them as a people but also listen to them more. I think we spend so much time saying to them what they need but not really often listen to them. I also think that the media need to look at there motives and they way they repersent them, they way that I have been brought up in society has made me think that every aboriginal is somebody is a drunk and doesn’t care for there children. Yes they do things differently and yes there are problems but there is thousands of years of culture and I can tell you they are not all drunks!

I would like to learn more and I think they need more education is schools!
