Bye bye sydney

Well here I am sitting at Sydney Airport, gosh I feel like a frequent flyer was only here last week. I have done soo much flying in the last few years; its funny it has all fun flying used to be exiting now just feels like a bus just more expensive.

Also my firefox is gone funny everytime I correct a spelling mistake the first option is Adolescent but when you click on it, it really gives you the option that should be there. Stupid.

Just getting so exited about Mardi Gras seen 5 or 6 gay or lesbian couples arriving at the airport from around the country its great a time of year for any GLBT person.

One thing to another

Well I have just returned from my trip to Tasmania, and man that was a rocky flight, I have flown more than I can remember and that was the funnest trip that I ever had, from the time we left Launceston till landing in Sydney it was up, down, shake, rock, roll. I was working on a training schedule for some training I am conducting for a friend, and gosh the roller coaster made it that much more fun. Also good to know that you’re getting value for money; means that the pilots need to work instead of opening their little window and having a smoke whilst the computer does it all.

Anyway, Tasmania was amazing, lots of good times with lots of fun people. Interesting to see where my relationships in Tasmania are up to, just who goes to the effort and who doesn’t. Everytime I go down a friendship appears to be more distance which is a normal process which im used too. It was hard to leave as always, Tasmania & my friendships down there have a special place in my heart, also really hard to get off the plane, get 4hrs sleep and then drive down the coast for my grandfather’s funeral then having to deal with all the other shit facing me in Sydney. In other news have my rehearsal for marti gras coming up with Bec on Saturday. I am very exited; always enjoy the marti gras. This year I am going with Metropolitan Christian church, on a float titled “Jesus wouldn’t discriminate” dressed as white angels. I have a growing passion for the gay community especially in regard to amount of hurt between the gay community and the wider church.

It’s funny my parents are always scared about me going out with my gay friends, especially dad been a public health person, he just sees day to day the effect of STI’s and always gives me the lecture anytime I do head out onto the strip, but thats ok. This year my friend Bec is gonna look after me, make sure I don’t drink too much or go home with anybody too crazy.
So funeral tomorrow; should be interesting. It has been coming for a while and struggling with feelings. Death has always been apart of my life, from personal experiences, parents occupation and just the normal dealing that life brings and this feels rather normal especially that it hasn’t been unexpected; will be monitoring my emotions closely and very lucky that Dave is coming down with me.

Anyway the plane is about to make its decent into Sydney, after what the pilot says was 200km/h winds!

Sad times

Well at the moment I am having a great time in Tasmania, It has been a welcome break and enjoying every moment of my trip. Too put a damper on the event after a long battle with cancer, yesterday my grandfather passed away yesterday morning quietly in his sleep. Looks like the funeral will be on Wednesday or Thursday after I return tomorrow night. I don’t wanna sound overly horrible or anything but I don’t feel really cut up about it, yes I am sad but this has been coming for a while so was expecting it doesn’t make it easy though.

Freaking hell

Well here I am in mmelbourne airport. The story goes that I got a flight from newcastle to melbourne then melbourne to tasmania with tiger. I had a 2hr gap between flights. My sister paid for me, and I booked the flights. Two days later I got a email from tiger saying sorry due to operational reasons the newcastle to melbourne flight has been reshueduled to a later time, which means I would miss my connecting flight. After speaking to the call centre in some asian country somebody was gonna contact me which they never did. The long story short was that I booked a flight with Virgin to get me to melbourne this morning loosing my money from orignal flight. They have issues with there phone number that it is always busy. I attempted to call them 40 times yesterday but couldn’t get on. It really annoys me; anyway the other issue is that they charge $11 for every kg over there feaking 15kg limit and I can’t do my old trick of just putting 15kgs in my carry on bags because they weight that too, so anyway its really annoying there is no tiger stuff in australia. It is really annoying and for sure never gonna fly with tiger again. I am just looking forward to arriving in launceston and forgetting this whole experience. Just glad I am flying back with Jetstar! Anyway life goes on. Soo looking forward to tassy though; will keep you informed.

P.S happy valentines day to my wife!
P.S.S Jenny please fix up my spelling mistakes :)
